Dual Carridgeway Game

    Noob on the forum!

I have invented a new game to play whilst driving on the A1 (or any other multi-lane road), I have decided to keep score of how may drivers indicate correctly before changing lane. To qualify the car must flash it's indicator twice before crossing the white lines (quite generous I feel).

I was pleasantly supprised to note that today it was abour 50/50, which seems better than normal.

The point? The sheer amount of drivers that start to indicate at the same time as they start to change lane staggers me. Why bother at all, if I don't notice your car is moving from one lane to another I am hardly going to notice a flashing orange light on the corner! The indicators are there to tell other drivers what you are going to do, not what you are doing, we can see that already!

So to the driver who was so clearly annoyed that I was too close to their bumper yesterday morning somewhere round Grantham - let me know what you are planning and you will find me a courteous and respectful driver, pull out randomly with indicators flashing then don't expect me slam on just to make you happy.

I appologise for joining this fine forum in such a oafish way, I hope future posts will be more reasoned debate than rant.

    I Agree

I'm with you there it is one of my biggest bugbears when some of the daft drivers do that. I drive on the A1 in Hertfordshire and all too often people change lane without a hint of an indicator or sometimes the obligatory single flash. Thats bad enough but then what have they done???? they have filled the nice safe distance I have established between myself and the car in front. Worse one ever was a Camper van on the M5 past Bristol who changed lanes without a hint of indicator or sign that they had used their morrors only some defencive driving on my part avoided any accident. He shouldn't have even been in lane 3 he was towing a trailer after all.
Common courtesey goes so far on the roads but not everyone adheres to that principal. :)

Happened to me the other day driver started to move then he indicated which cut me up leaving me braking hard, its all bad driving and i bet if there was a accident they would insist it wasnt their fault
