Coolant Leak

For several weeks, I've noticed engine coolant puddle on floor at the very front of the car (passenger side). it was only intermittent but now seems to be every day once the car has stood still (although coolant level doesn't seem to go down.!) Also no blowing of white smoke, or a noise or overheating. Also it doesn't have aircon. I did have to slightly fill though a nearly month ago. I've read on other sites perhaps I created an an airlock but causing a problem - I took of the expansion bottle cap to fill up (thought that all I needed to do). If I did create an airlock which perhaps is causing the problem and forcing coolant out(?), how do I rectify the air lock problem? Also, I noticed for the first time, at the weekend, a small amount of coolant leaking from the radiator cap. I have got a new one and put it on but suppose I would now have two leaks. One from the original leak under the car somewhere and now from the radiator cap (although hopefully this is now recitified with the new cap).
Could you please advise re the AIRLOCK issue and perhaps this might sort the problem.
PLEASE PLEASE any help - if airlock not the answer then its going to have to be a garage job.

    Its a Micra 2003 reg.
    Ta muchly

There could be several reasons for the leak.
    1. The radiator or a hose is leaking as its at the front.
    2. The thermostat may be stuck closed or partially stuck causing pressurising.
    3. A poor or faulty water pump is not circulating the coolant fast enough.
    4. Airlock - possibly. To try the airlock, engine cold. Remove expansion tank top and fill up to the max level mark. Leave the top off and start the engine and let it idle. Wait untill the temp gauge is at normal - this will take a few minutes. Then feel the top hose between engine and radiator. Once you can feel it go hot that means the thermostat has opened. Now switch off and wait a couple of minutes. Check the coolant level and top up as required. Refit the cap.

Many thanks HomeTune. I'll give the airlock a go - fingers crossed through perhaps thats all it is...but failing that I suppose it will be a garage job. If so, lets it doesn't cost too much. I've had a good look around under the bonnet and I cannot see anything come from the radiator itself (although did replace radiator cap). When I had the old style micra, years ago, the water pump just went and done loads of damage to the engine - hopefully its not that this time. Not sure where the water pump is located on this car to check for leakage from there.
