Ford Ka Heavy Oil use

I bought my wife a 6 month old dealer owned Ford Ka 1.3 for running about town. I initially noticed that it was quite heavy on oil consumption as I did the usual weekly checks. I only use 5w-30 as recommended. On its first service (1year) I did mention this to the dealership who promised to check it out. Needless to say they said there was nothing wrong and suggested that town driving might be the cause. That was 6 weeks ago. I let the weekly checks go till todat to discover that the engine requires 4.5 litres of oil. The car has only done 500 miles since the service.
I am looking for advice before I go back in and tackle the garage.

    Please help.

Hi I suggest you do go back to your dealer with the info you have gathered.
Clearly you have a problem. From expierience new cars do generally use a bit of oil during the first 10000 miles and then settle down. 4.5l in 500 miles, a bit excessive me thinks.. Good luck

    Cheers

I will try that again. The dealership is part of a very large chain (not mentioning any names). Their deals are not too bad. However their aftercare is not too good. I will try again. Thanks anyway
