It could certainly be achieved by allowing only people with an rac.co.uk email address in, for example.

As i hear Sussex Patrol .. Some of us already have tough books from panasonic , they are the hub of the new MDT system ... with those were all going to have racpatrol email addy's

I have the new toughbook, its a great piece of kit.

My new van is having a door replaced next week as some kind people broke

into the van mistaking the MDT for a sat nav. I had only had it for 5 days.

I hear MDT 2 is in the pipeline

I'm interested in the toughbook's performance - I want to draw a comparison of their working capabilities against another make's. Would you mind giving me some feedback on how they perform on

Screen - how good is it in daylight / sunlight. Is it easy to read?
Battery life - how long do the battery's last? Do they degrade over time?
Once out of the docking station, is their weight an issue?

The toughbook is great, it is really fast as they have took most of the options of it, only has browser and rac scan on it.

I dont think the battery life is great to be honest, weight isnt really a problem.

Apparently the US army use them, and will still function after a tank has driven over one!

Ive got a toughbook , cant fault it.
Having used the Fujitsu for a few years ,i can tell you the battery life on a toughbook is a blessing
Using Racscan on old Fujitsu unit after mains charge lasted about 5 mins lol

its alright for some .... my van is a year over dew going back , every time i hear that new vans are in the pipeline we take on more new starters and i get put to the back of the list :(
