Caught speeding - rights?

I was caught by a hand-held camera supposedly doing 39 in 30 zone. Someone told me the police need to have put up warning signs saying 'Speed Cameras in use' or something to that effect. Is this true?

No, the police don't need to put up signs to say they are conducting a mobile speed check. What next, signs to let burglars know that houses are empty?
Interestingly, one of my colleagues (an ex-police officer) did tell me that Speed Camera signs should be within a two mile radius of fixed speed cameras - but as this is a radius, there is no need for them to be on the same road even, just within two miles as the crow flies!
