Your collective thoughts needed please?

I have had my Jag from new, so fast approaching 17 years. It has and remains reliable and comfortable has all the extras that I need, and being older technology in most cases it can be repaired (in the few instances where something has been needed) without having to download a load of computer data or plug in a diagnostics.

So I am thinking about an MG in particular the HS and a third generation (2025 - ) model although I would consider a Gen 2 (2022 - 2025)

Having looked up closely at a few it feels like it is solidly built, and the level of standard equipment is astonishing without having to pay a Kings ransom.
I have driven the older car and it feels quite planted on the road and the leg and headroom is superb so I am guessing the newer car will be at a slightly better level.

The 1.5 turbo engine seems to be strong and seems to kick out decent BHP whilst still returning decent MPG.

I am looking at a 12 month old (late 25 or early 26 plate) which can be picked up with quite low mileage for around £14K, so my question is is do any of you have any views, thoughts or experience, or any advice on things to look out for on this particular make?

I don't need advice on what to look for in a second hand car, I am only looking for any views on the MG HS.

The comments I have heard add up to, "it does the job, a steady work horse".
It will not pick up it's skirt and run easily but it does not have any bad habits, there is just not enough power for it's weight, it sounds as though the stability system works well.
Lane assist (who needs it?) can be noticeable in it's action, which I assume could be annoying.

It sounded as though people bought them for SUV internal space/comfort at a lower cost, and that is what they got, it appears to be trouble free.
