So, my insurance renewal arrived. I rejected it and changed insurer. Then I received an email stating that the renewal premium would be taken on my Direct Debit. I phoned them and explained I had contacted them rejecting the renewal, and I had instructed my bank not to pay the DD. They then sent me a confirmation email pointing out that my insurance would expire at midnight on the agreed date. I then checked the date my new insurance started. Noon the day after. So 12hrs with no insurance because of 'company policies'.

The new insurers will adjust the start date.
Actually, the last time I was changing insurers they knew when my old insurance ran out, when I expressed surprise they said it is in data that all insurers have access to, if I hade requested for a gap they would have questioned, why the gap?

Noon seems weird to me, I thought they all tended to start and finish at midnight, that's not based on any knowledge, just my own limited experience
