Which One For You

Personally, I preferred the Ascari A10 because it was not overly electronic. You just get in it and drive. Not spend half an hour setting up suspension and all the other paraphernalia to get it to start.

I'm going to go for one of the Porsches. I once drove an older Porsche as part of an experience day and it wasn't one of the cars I knew anything about (I tend not to read up on stuff that I'd have no chance of being able to access) but it ended up being one of my favourites... I know lots of popular things are hyped up but I guess occasionally things are the popular choice because they're good!

Silly story time.
I attended a Porsche supercar that wouldn't start. After checking it out, I decided it was the ignition module. At 2am on the A40, I knew I wouldn't be able to get one, but somehow it felt familiar. I went through all the modules I carried, checking them out, and found one. A genuine Bosch part with the same part number, so I fitted it. The car started. All good. Now. even though I had shown the owner the identical part numbers he was still sceptical, so he said he would take it to his main dealer to have it checked out. I then asked him for £35. He asked me in all seriousness if it was some kind of knock-off part, and even though I assured him, yet again, that it was a genuine Bosch part. I could sense he was not fully convinced. Anyway, he drove off.
About 3 wks later, my boss came out to meet me after a job and asked me about the job. I told him what I could remember, after which he handed me an envelope. The guy had written to me via the AA thanking me for fixing the car. He also enclosed a £50 note. Apparently he had taken the car to his dealer and they assured him it was the correct part I had fitted. They also told him he had saved a fair amount of cash, as they sold the same component for £192! He decided to share his saving with me.
The reason I carried one was because the part also fitted the Mk4 Escort.
