I've had the misfortune of having to complain twice about lack of service.
The first last year when our car broke down, told by RAC it was repaired and fine to drive, set off, half a mile into our journney same issue occurred. Called RAC to be told we were advised not to drive the car. Their T&Cs stayed if the car is not safe to drive then onward transportation/ tow of the vehicle will be arranged. This wasn't done and our car remains at the other end of the country with RAC refusing to correspond with me.
Breakdown last week, told the layby I was I wasn't long enough and I should call 999. Called 999 who basically said RAC trying to shirking out of coming out. Total waste of police time. 8 hours later they finally got me home. After being told I'd be refunded for costs incurred they're now refusing to correspond with me, so they've basically stolen my money.
Can't escalate to anyone as they're not covered by Ombudsman or any governing body. RAC clearly well aware of this don't waste your hard earned money on them.
