Reported my breakdown at 08:11 this morning, initially given a slot of 10:30 -12:30 (well outside the published 60 mins) but I understand I’m not a priority. However the slot has since been moved (back obvs!) 3 times. I’ve not been waiting 6 hours.
This is a joke.
Rang the call centre - they tell me it’s going to be at least another hour and can’t guarantee my slot won’t be moved again.
The AA had a priority system when I worked for them, but it all went to pot with the introduction of ladies alone becoming the top priority. I found myself attending ladies alone at home who were given higher priority than families on a motorway, or those in 'dodgy' areas. I also found myself turning up at normal breakdowns given lady alone priority, but when I turned up, not a lady in sight. When I asked the whereabouts of the lady, I would be told that they had put on a squeaky voice and identified themselves as a lady alone to get faster service.
I also attended a number of priority jobs where they were either unwell or on their way to hospital appointments, and I often wondered how many of them were hoaxes.
Hi @Doug I’m really sorry this happened, and sorry we missed your post.
That sounds incredibly frustrating, especially with the slot being moved repeatedly after such a long wait. I just wanted to check in and see whether everything was eventually resolved and you got the help you needed.
