Storm Goretti is bringing tough conditions across parts of the UK today, including strong winds, snow and icy roads. ❄️💨 I know some of the areas most affected are the south-west of England, Aberdeen in Scotland and part of Wales.

Just checking in… how are you doing? Are you safe and warm?

• Only travel if you really have to, and check local updates before heading out.
• Charge your phone and keep a power bank handy in case of outages.
• Keep a torch, spare batteries and blankets nearby, especially overnight.
• Avoid coastal routes and exposed areas in strong winds.
• Watch for black ice (it can be sneaky and rude).

Seems like so far we've avoided it here in Leeds - fingers crossed I haven't just jinxed it! I think we're forecsast some sleet and snow showers between tonight and Sunday but hopefully they don't amount to much, I'm not much of a snow person!

@Nick No snow on Thursday/Friday morning in my area. During the weekend, it suddenly started snowing quite heavily. It was actually lovely, and surprisingly calm.
@NMNeil I'll share some of my Welsh rain. It hasn't stopped raining since yesterday, so I've sent some buckets your way. 😂
