I have an online car insurance policy with the RAC. I received a quote renewal email, asking me to check my insurance details before the automatic renewal takes place. When I log in to my RAC insurance account I get the message "Sorry, it looks like we are having some technical problems". These technical problems have been ongoing for the last 4 days, so today I called RAC insurance. I was told that there must be a technical issue, but that they have no way of intervening to resolve it and it might fix itself overnight. It hasn't fixed itself over the past three nights, so I find this unlikely. When I said I needed to resolve this today, so that I can work out what to do about renewing my insurance, the agent I was in contact with cancelled automatic renewal on the policy. It seems the RAC would rather loose a customer than fix its faulty IT systems.
