The reason I am posting is to highlight my delay was nothing compared to what my partners son and daughter in law experienced yesterday. They got a couple of miles from the park and ride they had used when the car overheated.
As well as two adults they had two children in the car, called the RAC and were given a window of 2 hours. Six hours later and conflicting updates a friend picked up the kids and daughter in law.
Her son ended up waiting in the car until 0600 hrs this morning, from 1500 hrs yesterday because the RAC kept saying they would soon be with him. He got a taxi home at this point and asked them to contact him when they were actually on their way.
Eventually my partner picked him up from home and took him to the car about 30 miles away in the middle of nowhere. It was another 2 hours before they arrived despite saying they were 30 minutes away.
Car towed back to home address but surely the standard of service is way below what we should expect, even some honesty would would be welcome.I have read numerous posts on here with similar issues but involving lone females and disabled drivers.
I will not be renewing my membership as it seems these issues are not isolated events, needless to say my partners son in law will not renew either.
