Why does RAC have a Complaints procedure?

Having been a loyal RAC member for 26 years, I once again watched my Recovery policy auto renew. No mention from RAC of appreciation for sticking with them since 1999.
If I'd been a new customer, I'd have gained an automatic discount, but stay for over 25 years and it goes unnoticed.
Is it lost on RAC that all the money spent in advertising and offering new business a 'welcome' discount counts for nothing if you ignore ignortome served customer and they leave?
I'm amazed and bitterly disappointed. Even Costa will offer loyalty card members a free cake worth £4.00 on their birthday. What do the RAC do? Reward loyalty? I don't think so.....

How many of you other members have had similar experiences? Actually, like me, you may consider simply giving up before you feel your complaint is heard......

Not wanting to single any out, because/but I've noticed this with lots of shops recently 🙁

Loads of routine online shopping sites offer discounts but are quite happy to state that existing customers are excluded... I'm more than happy to sign up as a new customer over and over again (being creative with my details if necessary) and personally don't have any moral issue doing it

Admittedly some things are tricky – if shopping for insurance or whatever it needs to be watertight – but I've never found issue with the vast majority of categories of product

When you began 26 years ago, RAC Motoring Services had just been sold. It was no longer to be operated on a not-for-profit basis, but as a commercial operation which became RAC PLC.. You were no longer a "member" of a "club".

The company has subsequently changed hands several times. It is currently owned by (among others) CVC Capital and the Singapore government's sovereign wealth fund. Do you really imagine any of those feel any "loyalty" towards you?
