Bit of a newb here so apologies if I have posted in the wrong place.
I bought my Mum a 2008 Smart fortwo back in 2019 and for the most part things have been okay. Back in July my mum reported intermittent loose steering. When she tried driving it a few days later steering was back to normal. When driving it in August the loose steering was back. The car then wasn't driven until October when my dad test drove it and he said the steering felt OK. The car has just been sitting there and now the battery has gone flat. I want to get this sorted so my Mum can go back to driving it so (1) she doesn't get the bus and (2) the car isn't just left sat there with a dead battery forming rust. I've booked the car in at a garage on my next day off (next week) and am wondering how much this might set me back to get fixed (the steering not the battery). Any ideas on what might be wrong and the costs to fix?
Thanks!
