I'm on the RAC mobile mechanic website trying to get a quote, but it is only giving me these options under Brake System:

1. Disc and pad replacement front
2. Disc and pad replacement rear
3. Pad replacement front
4. Pad replacement rear

If the RAC do do callipers how are we supposed to book it?

Great question, one that got me scratching my head. 😅 Because callipers involve more work (hydraulic systems, pistons, fluid, possibly lifting the car), it’s likely that caliper replacement / repair is considered “more complex”, so it might be handled by a full garage rather than via mobile-mechanic services.

My advice? Get in touch with our team here: 0330 159 0740 and tell them you need calliper work, check if our RAC Mobile Mechanics do it and if not, if they can arrange for it at a RAC Approved Garage. They will be more than happy to give you a hand.

@Nick Hi no that page does not have any information about how to book Calliper replacements on the RAC website, so not helpful sadly.

@Lily After posting my question on this forum, it said my post was in moderation (and it remained in moderation for several hours) so I called the RAC MM customer service telephone number and was told that the website does indeed have the option to book Brake Calliper replacement.

So I went back to the website and tried to see if I could figure it out. As I am a highly experienced web developer, I'm normally pretty good at figuring out websites.

So I tried troubleshooting with several different cars registrations and other options, I can now confirm with an extremely high level of confidence that - despite being told by RAC MM customer service that there is - there is definitely no way whatsoever to book a Calliper replacement on the RAC website.

I do not want to get quotes and/or book it over the telephone because I do not want to hand over personally identifying information (which is what I was asked to do) just to get a price for a product or service of this nature.

I simply want to know the price, so I can take my time and compare other services.

Sadly, as I am unable to get a Calliper price via the RAC Mobile Mechanic website - as I can with other websites - the RAC has excluded itself from my options.

Hey @Eric, thanks for your feedback and your reasoning behind it. I'll make sure to share it with the relevant teams.

I completely understand not being comfortable with sharing bank details over the phone, even if you are talking with our Member Services team. My mom and grandmother also prefer to book everything online! You 100% should be able to do it from our website.
