Advisory on second hand car

I recently purchased a 2013 Ford Fiesta from a second hand car garage via a part exchange. I traded in my 2010 Citroen C1 for a value of £700 given by one of the staff members. However, after completing the purchase and looking in the binder with all the documents, the recent MOT in June 2025 was a pass with an advisory of a suspension arm ball joint has slight play Nearside Front Lower. I notice, especially when turning right, the left front side wheel shakes and wobbles. This also occurs when going over a bumpy road. However, my dad called the garage to ask about it, and this other staff member told him the car I traded in needed lots of work and wasn’t worth the £700 trade in price. This isn’t what I would expect someone to say when they didn’t bother to check the car. With regards to fixing the problem with the suspension arm ball, they said they don’t normally fix them, but would book it in for “10 minute job” at a nearby garage. However, after telling my dad to drop off on Thursday, I rang and was told it was agreed to drop off the following Monday. Should I be concerned as the seller seems to be awkward when speaking to and delaying the fixing?

A car bought from a dealer has a 6 months warranty, if you do not let them do the required repair you will break the terms of the warranty. It do's not matter if the dealer chooses to have the repair done at another garage at no cost to you.

If they made a bad deal on your old car, as long as you did not deliberately take steps to mislead them, that is not your problem.
