I like the idea but the article do's not mention anything about the resin used.
Composites, showing their structure reminds me of the period in architecture when it was fashionable to show the structure outside.

When they calculate the carbon footprint impact of carbon fibre, I'd argue it's justified to calculate a realistic fuel saving (due to the lightness) over the expected lifetime of the car and deduct that from the footprint. I don't know if they build that into the number already?

It's a good question, I guess the answer depends on are they for or against.

The question that is rarely asked before modern materials are used is, 'how do we dispose of it?'
