What a shambles - can anyone give me advice on how to get any coherent information

Can anyone tell me if there is a way to get a straight answer from anyone about anything when a breakdown policy has been provided as part of a vehicle purchase, in this case Triumph Assist.

I am in customer service/conflicting info hell currently.

I cancelled my policy a month ago but RAC are denying I ever spoke to anyone and will refund me when they 'pull the call'. As it stands they've charged me for a years policy and I've asked for some policy documents at least. "register on the app with this membership number says one person" doesn't work call them back "oh you won't ever be able to see that policy on the app says another person"

HELP ME PLEASE IM LOSING MY MIND ☹

If you have proof (in your phone call log?) of when you called you could claim the money back from the small claims court system, otherwise for piece of mind write it off as another UK ripoff.

I avoid any automatic renewals, having being caught once in a similar situation.

It would seem that companies that move to on line business never pause to think, what can go wrong from the customers point of view?
Perhaps that is not so surprising, one of the benefits of on line trading is there is no physical contact with customers because they interpose a call centre between you and them, if you are lucky that is.
The call centres job is to get you off the phone, not to solve your problem.
Soon we they will be adding a new catch all phrase to the call centre script, 'It is correct, there are no problems, our AI never makes mistakes!'.

There is growing awareness of how companies are making it more difficult to cancel all kinds of subscriptions online. The current advice seems to be to sort out cancellation systems before signing up for any of them. I am constantly being offered all kinds of free trial periods where I am expected to provide credit/debit card info, or sign up for a Direct Debit. But this is all OK because this information is only requested to prove age. Yeah - right!
