Hi I had a breakdown and RAC came out and got my car stared and followed me home then checked the car and said it is the starter motor and said they could do it on a Saturday morning so I booked it in at the cost of £231.40 this was in January 2025 then now in February 2025 my car will not start in my driveway so I phoned RAC on the Thursday and they said they would have the engineer to pass it so a mechanic can come but no phone calls back so again phoned on Friday three times just kept cutting me off then going contact again on the Monday and the call person said that I need to pay £75.00 for them to come and check it and if it is not the starter motor then they would keep the money as a call out charge now this starter motor is under warranty so surely they should come and check it anyway but no they won't one big rip off i am fuming I have contacted my insurance company but waiting for a reply from they hope they can sort it out as RAC just don't care.

Are you a member of the RAC for Breakdown or is this related to an RAC Warranty claim?
I would recommend reaching out to the team via Facebook, X, or Instagram, where they can do some checks and help you from there. -
06-03-25 09:52@Nick thank you nick we have been on to RAC and through my insurance company and finally they have come to the decision that they will come out and check the starter motor I put in brackets ( as a good will gesture) but hopefully this will be sorted now thank you again for the support.
