I have a kerb on the boundary edge of my garden. I have built a gravel driveway. Do I need permission to drop the kerb as the car isn’t crossing a pavement? It’s the street then my garden.

I'm certainly no expert here but my suspicion on this is yes, you will need approval. It likely depends on your local council so probably worth getting in touch with them.

Locally, you have to apply to the Council, and they do the work. They the charge you for it. A friend had it done just before Covid, and they charged him £800! A few hours, two men, and a bit of asphalt which they laid by hand.
