Hi I've had the RAC out twice to my 10 plate nissan Micra both engineers gave different problems 1 said a meter motor 1 said ECU problems now I've managed to have it looked over at a garage after it started they rule out ECU problem key turns in barrel but only starts intermittengly any ideas please thank you in advance

17-02-25 12:07It sounds like the antitheft system is not working correctly.
The quickest way to sort it out go to a Nissan dealership.
There may be stuff on the internet on reprogramming the key. -
17-02-25 16:10Just a thought, but has anybody checked the starter motor? It is not unusual for the starter solenoid to get 'sticky', especially if it is the original. If this is the case, just opening and slamming the door may unstick it.
This was a regular callout for early Ford Sierras. -

Our current VRM numbering system is surprisingly user-friendly, especially for a government scheme.
Starting with 01 in 2001, a 10 plate is 2010, March to August. For September to February, add 50. -
