I hope you can advise me on the issue of losing my license. I lived for less than a year in the period before Brexit, during which I changed the Italian permit to the one from the UK. Having a short period, I no longer applied for pre-settled. Shortly after I left the UK, I lost my driver's license. Not having the car, I didn't take into account that I no longer have the license among the documents from the UK. I recently decided that I want to buy a car and I noticed that I no longer have my license. I went to the Car License Registry in my country to declare the lost license and exchange the UK license. I was told that due to Brexit, even if I have proof from the DVLA that I have a driving license in the UK, due to the fact that I do not have the physical license I cannot make the change. What could I do in the given situation to have a new license from the DVLA? on the DVla portal it is written that you must be resident in the UK to be able to have a duplicate. I hope you can help me. Kind regards, S.
