It's been a decade and a half since I worked in insurance and I would say the only surefire way to check is by speaking to your own insurer to see if your Comprehensive cover comes with Driving Other Cars cover. Not all comprehensive policies do, and those that do would generally only be third party only cover, which could be fine in this instance.
Some insurers may want to check if you're insured as a driver on the vehicle itself, and may default to that as the higher level of insurance - but I think the only way to know for sure would be to ask the question of your insurer. Let us know how you get on.
