Whilst driving my wife’s car I hit another vehicle. There was no damage to my wife’s car but damage to the third party vehicle . Can I pay the third party through my own fully comp insurance so it does not impact her no claims?

Hey @Paulb1964 - Welcome to the forums and thanks for making your first post!
It's been a decade and a half since I worked in insurance and I would say the only surefire way to check is by speaking to your own insurer to see if your Comprehensive cover comes with Driving Other Cars cover. Not all comprehensive policies do, and those that do would generally only be third party only cover, which could be fine in this instance.
Some insurers may want to check if you're insured as a driver on the vehicle itself, and may default to that as the higher level of insurance - but I think the only way to know for sure would be to ask the question of your insurer. Let us know how you get on.

As above, you need to check you've got DOC cover, and that there's no exclusion to rule out your wife's car.

It won't affect her NCD, but she will have to declare the accident as you're a named driver.
