After 10 minutes, get a text stating anything from 3 hours to 6 hours....
    Is this the RAC standard?
That's even if,they manage to make this time frame.
Just another. Well provide very little, and hope you never need us,but we'll take your money anyway!

    Hi @Wedge,

    Welcome to the RAC Community.

I'm sorry to hear about your experience. On average, we aim to get to people within 60 minutes, however this week is often the most challenging as many cars have been sat idle over the festive period - we expect to see more callouts for flat batteries than at any other time of the year.

Add to that the disruption across the country that the weather has brought and things may take a little longer than normal.

As you've seen our teams will keep you informed via the app/text etc and get to you as soon as possible.

In the meantime, if there's anything that our community members can help with, I'm sure they'll be able to use their knowledge and experience to point you in the right direction.

    All the best,
    Mark.

This type of delay and lack of communication can be common with some service providers. It's always good to push for clarity and follow-up when things aren't clear.

I have roadside recovery with Mercedes who partner with RAC and had the misfortune to have a puncture at the weekend. My car does not have a spare and the puncture was not repairable with the can of gunk in the car. I was in a rural location at night. I received a text from RAC within 10 minutes and then a call to check my location. I heard nothing for ages and no text with a recovery time. After 2 hours I was told the RAC could not provide assistance and were calling a local contractor. An hour later the contractor contacted me to say they had just received the ticket from RAC. I was eventually recovered after 5.5 hours, the local contractor was only 6 miles from my location. I was extremely disappointed with the service from RAC and lack of any confirmation of a response time. Waiting for an hour between phone calls in the dark on my own with no update on timescales was not acceptable. I am so glad I don’t pay for RAC membership.

Hi @CrossBaa welcome to the RAC Community.

I am sorry to hear your husband waited for such a long time, at what time did our team arrive? As mentioned before on this thread, we aim to get to our customers in 60 minutes, but thanks the current weather we are getting more calls than usual.

Let us know if there's anything we can do for you.
