Clutch pedal Loose after new gear box
-
I was experiencing problems with a noisy vibrating clutch pedal on a 2018 peugeoit 2008 which only went away after pressing it. The garage said i needed a new clutch and they have replaced the gear box also. The clutch pedal now seems looser but gears change fine. I wasn't expecting this; in fact I was thinking it would be the opposite. Can anyone please advise if this is normal?

Best AnswerYou could call at the garage that fitted it, they should check it over, and or put it right (if there is a problem) without charge.
It could be something as trivial as the clutch pedal return spring is missing or more serious stuff inside the clutch.
Your worries will only get worse if you leave it unchecked. -
What do you mean by "looser" - in what way is it looser?
I'm be no means an expert but my experience has always been newer clutches require less force to press, and are more forgiving (i.e. harder to accidentally stall) when pulling away. The cars I've driven with worn clutches were always firmer and had a much smaller "sweet spot" within which you could slip it and pull away smoothly
So I'd say sounds normal but might be wrong??
