3 weeks ago, I bought a 2013 2L Turbo VW Beetle from a dealer for £10k. The engine warning light came on. The diagnostic test has shown that the catalytic converters need replacing, and other smaller faults were also flagged up. The car is also quite rusty underneath. Other than that, it's a lovely car, but should I return it?

I believe it's up to the dealer - they have the choice between making it right or giving you your money back

If they choose the former, make sure they correct everything and don't try to short-change you in any way

They could well decide to just refund you and try to sell it to someone else with the hope that person will be less observant!
