Well, the good news is that all the local roadworks are finished, and it appears they have done a good job. No pothole 'fixing', but complete resurfacing of all affected roads.
Unfortunately, they have started putting up the roadside matrix signs telling us that HS2 work is starting again. Happily, these are mostly overnight times, and we have very little overnight traffic around here, so shouldn't affect us too much.
Here's hoping.

I had a good idea recently: if they're struggling to fill all the holes, they could melt down all the speed humps and use them to fix the potholes, 2 birds 1 stone 😎

Towards the end of the video, a man remarks on the road sweeper not sweeping his side of the road because it is breaking up.
It looks as though there was insufficient binder or it was too cold/wet when it was originally laid, this is the problem with outsourcing everything.

I have seen videos of new roads being coated with 'tyres', but only time will tell of its durability. Personally, I only know I have to replace my tyres as they wear out, so with a lot of traffic running over it?

I have looked for information on life but I cannot find any comments.
Asphalt mixed with shredded tyres has been used as a road topping, and is claimed to have a longer service life due to its flexibility reducing cracking, and water ingress.

I am not sure what the binder is in the pothole filler nor what the ratio of binder to rubber is.
