I'm looking for a new car and one of the potentials is a Combo Life. It ticks all the boxes except for one thing.... The front seats only recline part way (maybe around 45 degree angle at the lowest?). We often go away for short breaks in the car and sleep in the front, with the seats fully reclined. So without that we'd have to rule this model out.

Does anyone know if there is anything that can be done to the seats to allow them to fully recline?

The same is also true of the Citroen Berlingo, which is based on the same platform. So would probably also be true for the Peugeot Rifter, which again is based on the same platform.

The seats are part of the safety package these days, you would have to inform your insurers if they are tinkered with.

Swapping the seats is not difficult but again the insurers would have to be advised.

I would contact the manufacturers. It is possible they make a fully reclining seat for a different market, in the same way a lot of cars are made for other markets where it is a legal requirement to carry a proper spare wheel.

Thanks for the replies. Good idea, I'll contact Vauxhall to see if they can help or suggest anything. I'm guessing the problem is with the fact it is basically a van with windows, and the seats reflect the van basis.

While I'm here, I've got a couple of photos showing the limited recline of the front seats, so thought I would share them... Both show the driver's seat in maximum recline position.
