Started with a phone call Monday night that my youngest daughter's cancer op had been brought forward to Tuesday because of a cancellation, but will need picking up after to be taken home. We had already arranged to stay Wednesday with my oldest daughter, because we were all travelling together on Thursday to Chester for my granddaughter's Graduation ceremony. (This meant a 4am start to get there on time.) She agreed we could also stay Tuesday night rather than travelling home Tuesday.
We picked up youngest on Tuesday and took her home, then Wednesday she received a phone call Wednesday saying all the post-op test results were back, and she was now cancer-free.
Thursday morning we set off to Chester where we discovered, at the ceremony, that our granddaughter was now a B Sc with Honours. After the ceremony we went on a tour of historical Chester ending up at a Hickory's diner, where we spent a few hours eating, drinking, and generally celebrating both our youngest daughter's and granddaughter's good fortune, before heading back to the eldest's home.
We got up Friday morning and phoned our youngest to check up on her. She told us that she had received a call from her Consultant giving her the official all-clear, and making an appointment for her post-op debrief.
We came home Friday night totally exhausted, and just about managed to empty the car before climbing into bed with a great sense of relief and total exhaustion.
All-in-all, a good week.
