Your Favourite Fictional Character

Mine is Sam Vimes of The Night Watch of Ankh-Morpork. Part of the Discworld series by the late Terry Pratchett.

I started reading Discworld aged about 12 but couldn't get into it, maybe might be worth trying again? I probably wouldn't have gotten all the references at that age anyway - I read Animal Farm aged about 10 and thought it was just a nice book about animals...
Nice question though... going to have a think -
I missed early Morse, (the cop series) I discovered it once I retired, the series appeared to have been written for John Thaw (Inspector Morse).
I think the series was well written, and in the main just quietly got on with the plot, the follow on series is as well written with again, the Inspector (Lewis was Morse's Sargent) and the Sargent working together like a long married couple.
I also have enjoyed Endeavor, (which is Morse's christian name) again well written and the same married couple idea.
I did like the little touch in the last scene of the last program of the Endeavor series, there is a shot through Endeavor's rear view mirror of John Thaw (Morse) driving Morse's red Jaguar following behind. -
Just before the Covid lockdown I had the good fortune to meet a guy who lived in one of the villages near Chipping Norton. He was directly involved in some of the sites that were used in filming Morse, Lewis and Endeavour. (I had recognized a pub en route to him that was used, and mentioned it to him.) He gave me a guided tour of most of the sites used. There is some beautiful scenery around the area.
