We've come along way since cars were four wheels, an engine and a steering wheel.

They have touch screens, heated steering wheels, wifi hotspots, sensors for everything.... some will even park themselves.

What's the best gadget in a car?

Not sure if it's a gadget but the one "techy" thing I don't know if I'd do without, on a daily car at least, is decent headlights. To me the LED lights on my car are just such an advancement over old lights

I'm aware they are considered a liability by some people, but based on a bit of experience, trial and error and at first being flashed at, which never happens since I've properly adjusted them, I believe the problem is down to people not adjusting them correctly

As the summer months appear to be behind us, I'm remembering how much I appreciate my seat warmers on a cold morning.

I really like the 360 degree cameras and especially the camera at the back that shows me the tow ball... It's almost too easy to hitch now.

I woke up this morning to a flat tyre... so I'm adding tyre pressure sensors to the list.

Another to add is when an app tells you you've left the car unlocked, would you like to remotely lock it.

Yup, someone pushed a nail/screw between my alloy and the tyre. There's no way it was an accident and I have no idea what I did to upset them.

I should add that I don't have pressure sensors (I just wish i did).

As for the app, I love the sound of that. Does it also tell you if you leave your lights on?

I'm very fond of my cassette player and the rear screen demister but both are trumped by automatic choke – I don't know how I ever managed without it!

Ground-breaking developments - like the automatic choke - are very quickly taken for granted.

Other unloved examples from the era of the manual choke, are 6-Volt headlamps, vacuum wipers and semaphore indicators.
