The RAC website - where you are supposed to log your breakdown - wasn't working, all details entered then it would go page not found. Tried 4 times.
Eventually after considerable arguing with the RAC person telling him I was reading from the Aviva document on the number to call and what details I had to provide him with he finally reneged and took the ins policy number and proceeded with the callout request. Why didn't he just take it in the first place and not try to extort money from me?
This was clearly a hard sell, try to extort money out of me even though I had already purchased breakdown cover with the car insurance (as I informed him) and all he had to do was take the policy number.
Customer service is dead in the UK and these companies just don't care. I wouldn't be surprised if these operators are on bonuses for scamming the policy holders.
[In the event, a member of the public helped me get going and I was able to cancel the callout request (which I called back and did despite being annoyed with them) so they didn't even have to do the callout.]
What is your explanation RAC ?? Do you even read these posts given there's no way of contacting you for complaints?
