Electrical fault causes car fire
-
I purchased a car on 27th February 2024 and it set on fire in 27th August 2024. Finance company are trying to say I’m out of my six month warranty as it is six months to the day. The car set on fire due to an electrical fault as the fire brigade concluded and put in their report. I’m left with no car, finance, a burnt out car on my drive and emotionally distressed children. This happened on my driveway early hours in the morning. Thank god for my neighbour and a fast response from the fire service or it could have been fatal.

A friend had a car stolen from his drive, and when the insurer started being uncooperative, he claimed on his household property insurance. Both policies with the same company. He got full payment and his excess refunded. When his renewal came through, ha changed company. Just wondered if it might be worth your going this route?

@Beelzebub I’ve been advised not to go through my car insurance as it was a fault on the car
