In 2025, Brad Pitt will star as a driver returning to F1 to take on the teams at the top.

It got me thinking, what are some of your favourite driving movies? What were the iconic cars? What was your favourite car chase?

A (relatively) recent movie that springs to my mind is Mission Impossible: Fallout. It had a genuinely epic car chase. I watched it at the cinema and found myself holding on to the arm of the chair and wincing as the bikes and cars weaved through oncoming traffic.

My favourite chase has to be Ronin. As for iconic cars, that has to be the 3 Minis in The Italian Job. My favourite part of this is in the Special Features section, where the Minis are being 'chased' by Police cars in the ice rink, with a very suitable piece of classical music being used as the soundtrack.

I'm not a movie person, the very few I watch are mostly historical or war films...so no cars, really! I did love the original Italian Job as a child, though.

My Dad keeps telling me, as a Muscle car lover, I need to watch a car chase scene from Bullitt, or maybe even just the whole film ... is it any good?

It was an excellent film, and the chase scene I believe is still the longest car chase scene in any film ever, at a few seconds short of 11 minutes.

The DB5 is still an iconic car, I guess all the Bond cars are.

I think the Blues brothers movie had the record for the most cars destroyed in a car chase, but (I think) the second Matrix movie beat it.

The motorway/highway scene in particular, I think they genuinely did blow up/destroy a lot of cars.
But then, what is reality when you're in the matrix?
