Hi a new member just looking for some advice.

Today I've found out after selling my car to we buy any car that they actually cant give me the price they agreed with us on Saturday because they bought and sold the car with 6 thousand less miles on than it had last year.

After abit of digging and help from we buy any car we've managed to get it in black and white that it hit we buy any car last year with 100,000 miles on the clock. It was then sold to a company which then sold it to the bca with 102,000 miles on the clock.

It was then sold to the garage i bought it from with a retail advert showing 84,000 miles on the clock this is what it shown when we bought it and its now 10,000 more than that after a year using it. The proof is there that the mileage went down once it got to the garage and they sold it. Also they did an mot when we bought it and only added 1,000 miles on from the mot the year before even though it consistently did 15,000 miles each year before that.

I feel like this is a crazy question but seen a few horror stories online but do I have a good chance of getting a full or a decent refund for this car since I feel like I've been mis sold.

    Thanks for any replies

Maybe an urban legend but supposedly a less than honest car dealer bought a very high mileage BMW 7 series from auction, and got his apprentice to 'adjust' the odometer. Upon removing the instrument cluster someone with a sense of humour had put a message on the back reading; "Oh no not again"

Used to be too easy to buy a used speedo from a breakers and change it over.
I don't know if that's viable nowadays as certainly all the breakers that were here are now gone.

My parents told me that cars used to revert to zero when they passed 99,999...I naively asked whether that was open to abuse but they quite rightly said you wouldn't need the odometer to know a British car from the 60s had done 100,000 miles, if it even survived that long 😳

I scrapped my first Mini at just under 80,000. The handbrake parted company from the floor because of rust, then the passenger seat went through the floor. Luckily this happened when it was parked on the premises. My Morris Oxford front wing parted company at around 60,000, and when we went to weld a new one on, there was nothing to weld to. The whole front end was shot. My Rover 3litre coupe died around 75,000 miles because of rust on just about the whole underneath.
They just don't make 'em like they used to!
