I missed the Opening Ceremony, nor have I watched too much of the few few days.

Yesterday evening, I finally tuned in and I'm hooked on sports that I don't understand.

From Tom Pidcock's dramatic Gold in the mountain biking, to Strictly Come Horse Dancing I'm finding myself watching it all.

I gave up on the Olympics when they declared that ballroom dancing, and later skateboarding was a sport.
If you are not competing directly with others, such as a race or against the clock but need judges to decide the outcome, it stops being a sport.
Just my perception.

I agree entirely. I'd make an exception for boxing, where the judges base their marks on objective measures (i.e. counting hits) rather than "style".
