Random question, for fun

For me it was aged about 10 at a private fishing lake. I seem to remember it being semi off-road and being constantly told to drive around the potholes, obviously my parents were trying to get me ready for typical British roads from a young age

I was probably about the same age although I was riding motorcycles off road at about 5 years old.

My father was the Police Road safety officer and I used t go to a lot of weekend events with him and at the end of the day when everyone had gone, he would throw me the keys and ask me to go and fetch the car which back then was a Datsun 1200 Coupe.

15 years later we were the first father and son in our force to hold Advanced Class 1 qualifications for both cars and bikes.

I think the first petrol powered vehicle I drove was a go-kart (around a track), probably also around 10 years old.

The first time that I got behind the wheel of a car would have been when I was 15 or so (on private land). My older brother was learning to drive and my dad thought it would be good for me to be included... I spent an hour or two driving around some cones and stalling.

Myself and two friends pooled our pocket money and bought a Triumph Mayflower. It drove, but was a complete rust-bucket. We were 7 and 8.
