I have a 2009 focus s 1.8 tdci. For some weeks now my car has been plagued with limp mode problems. The garage has changed the fuel filter, the egr valve, glow plugs, injectors, engine wiring loom, leak back pipes and now the ecu.

The latest garage has found that there is not a 12volt supply to the actuator, its been in the garage for 2 weeks and no closer to getting fixed.I'm at the stage now where I'll get the car back and see what I can do myself.

Any suggestions about what could possibly be wrong with it would be very much appreciated.

I think I would start with checking alternator output and then battery. Alternator output should be around 13.8 to 14.4volts, Battery should be drop-tested and recovery tested.
