was allowed to drive my transit van into a customers underground garage - with couple of cm clearance to the powered up and over door.
On exiting, whilst alone, I pressed the internal operator button, returned to my van and drove out...but as I drove out, the door began to close and landed on the rear third of my roof, damaging my van and the garage door.
The customer said the safety beam should have halted the door's decent when my van broke the beam...but the door still made contact and caused damage. I could not see the door was beginning to close as I was exiting.
Who is liable for the damage?
