what can I do to get money back of the seller and get the garage held responsible as well?
Dodgy mot on private car purchase

Hi, I bought an old car with new mot which was done 25/1 I’ve just had it serviced and been told there is no way it would have passed the mot and it’s dangerous to drive.

Best AnswerYou have fewer rights when buying from a private seller because parts of the Consumer Rights Act don't apply
But, the seller must:
- Accurately describe the car. For example, an ad must not say 'one owner' when its had several.
- Not misrepresent the car. For example, tell you something which isn't true, such as telling you it hasn’t been in an accident when it has.

As far as the "dodgy" MOT goes, you can report the tester here: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/report-an-mot-tester -
OP, I can't see that there's any comeback against the seller unless (as above) he misrepresented the car. If he told you it had a current MOT, that seems to be true.
What is allegedly dangerous? Is it something that could have gone wrong in the three months since the MOT? Was it flagged as an advisory in January?
Finally, I'd get a new MOT rather than take the word of the servicing mechanic. -
@Beelzebub totally corroded tear coil spring in fact broken, and indicators not flashing instant fail.
i haven’t driven it apart from once since it was sold with a full mot -
@Santa he sold it to me with a brand new MOT I’ve just had it serviced one drove to the service centre and they said there is no way it pass d the mot
