Hi all, first post here.

I have a 14 plate Mokka and the alarm will go off sometimes. It's not an often thing but definitely had a few bouts of this.

Thoughts/observations:

If this happens I sometimes just use the blipper to unlock/lock - but I think it might work better to go out, open/close a door then lock? Is that a waste of time?

Is my battery going dud? (No issues starting though)

Have read on the web that it could be a fly in there? Checked that.

Always check doors just in case the kid left one ajar.

As far as I know she's not overly sensitive to cars going by. This has happened in the small car part at the back of my house as well so not cars wooshing past.

Might sound stupid but anecdotally worse in warm weather (that I can remember, not seen the sun in months :))

Any general tips or likely reasons for this?

@Zubenelgenubi I had a similar issue with a previous car. My neighbours were RAGING! I took it into a local garage and they suggested it was the little wires (?) on the back windscreen had breaks in them, which led to he alarm going off . . . . As far as I remember it didn't cost too much to fix, and seemed to fix the issue. But this was about a million years ago . . . Hope someone else can offer more advice!

My car (Mondeo Mk5) has two settings on the alarm. Full alarm, which reacts to any movement inside the car, and reduced alarm which only reacts to external things. The first setting is there to allow for me to lock the car with a dog inside, should I wish to.

When I had a similar problem, I left it set to the lower level until I was able to leave all the doors wide open for a while to allow whatever it was to escape.

I have found faulty luggage area light switches which will activate randomly causing the light to come on, and the alarm registers the voltage used. Any kind of vibration can affect the switch, when faulty.

Huge number of things that could cause it. I'm just thankful it doesn't happen too often.
