Hi all I purchased a used vehicle from a large RAC approved dealer, they stated they had carried out the 82 point inspection and fully serviced the vehicle.
there wasn't a copy of the MOT in the paperwork I received, they stated they don't give copies of MOT's on checking with the DVLA the last MOT had advisories for the rear brakes.
the rear pads are down to 3 mm dealer states they don't clear advisories I'm going on a 1500 mile trip and don't think the pads will last.

These results cannot be changed by a garage or dealer.
As far as I am aware, the dealer who sold you the car does not have to fix advisories.
For what it's worth, it is a matter of where and how you drive which will dictate how many miles the pads will last. If you are going on a motorway journey where you can cruise, they will obviously last a lot longer than the same distance around a town/city centre.
