I recently took my car to the garage, and it got a new fan belt. Since coming back, my car is making a clapping noise when I cold start it. The noise goes away after a little while

does anyone know what this might be?

the garage have said they think it might be the ‘pulley tension’ (I’m not fully aware of what that is) and if it is that the part is £160, but they need to investigate more (they’ve had the car for 3days so far)

my car is a Ssangyong tivoli, diesel, manual, 66plate

And advice or insights on if anyone has any ideas of what it could be would be much appreciated
