I visited a town recently and there was a small bridge with a weird sign on it.

It had a "no motor vehicles" sign, then underneath it said "except for vehicles exceeding 3 tonnes".

If I understood it correctly, that means you can only use the bridge if your vehicle exceeds three tonnes?

I can understand a 3 tonne upper limit but this was the opposite...

Why would this be the case?
