I just found out about the Porsche EV battery recall. Turns out there is a seal fault that allows water on the batteries causing them to explode. Apparently, this can be avoided by looking at the dashboard. Initially, an orange warning light comes on, and if this is ignored, a red one comes on. However during my time in the motor trade I discovered that some motorists ignore red lights on their dashboard in the same way they ignore strange noises. Wait 'til it breaks down and blame everyone else, and of course, whinge about the cost of repair.

I am sure you are right about the way that some people ignore warnings. I do wonder, though, that modern cars give drivers a lot of information and "information overload" can be a problem.

A very common 'fix' for the check engine light was to put a piece of black tape over it.
