Me and my friend buy and sell old BMW's and spares as a weekend thing, this involves driving from Cornwall as far as Liverpool to pick up cars and bring them back, so far we have been limited to driving them or borrowing/hiring a trailer. Since a dolly isnt really that expensive and after a few bad experiences with "perfect runners" involing sitting on the side of the M5 at 2am waiting for the RAC.
So to the point, can towing dollys/a-frames tow the likes of say BMW e28/e30/e34/e39 models?

As far as I know-you cannot flat tow any BMW's over ten miles due to the risk of damaging the transmission-unless you disconnect the propshaft. Also check the law as technically if you are towing a vehicle that is not broken down you may require an operators licence-do a search on this forum we had a thread about it a while ago.

we have been havin this discussion lately as I have seen a TSB with BMW advising it is now ok to front lift on the RDT, but there is still a bulletin flying round saying you carnt. A call to tech is advised

depending on what type a-bar / dolly you get it might not fit on lower arms due to the way they are set up :D
