It looks like we'll be getting hands-free driving on UK motorways soon.

According to the BBC, the government has approved a technology from Ford called 'BlueCruise'.

The system can control steering, acceleration and braking but a camera will monitor a driver's eyes so they stay on the road. It can also keep a safe distance from other cars and even bring them to a complete stop in traffic jams.

So.... who's up for it?! 🤣

It's a lot of money, for no real benefit. The driver is still required to take control to overtake and if "City stop" is anything to go by, it will probably prove to be more nuisance than a help.

That said, it's another step towards full autonomy, which I am sure will be available in the not-too-distant future.
