Buying a car after passing test

I passed my car on 10/3 and I'm waiting for my full licence to arrive. I have arranged to buy a car but I'm wondering if I'll need to wait to receive my full licence before collecting or they will be able to find my full licence on a system allowing me to collect.

Although it could take up to three weeks for you to receive your updated photocard in the post, you don’t need to wait for it to arrive before you drive.

Ensure you tax and insure the car before driving it on the road. This can be done with a smartphone at the point of collection, but getting some insurance quotes in advance is a good idea. In fact, you should do that before you commit to buying the car.

I got my car 3 months after beginning to learn how to drive (3 months before passing). My instructor said that she could see how much it helped as she compared me to another pupil who started at the same time but didn’t have his own car. She said after i got a car she could see me improve much faster than him, so to me it did help me a lot!! Insurance was actually cheaper as a learner driver than it is now for me. It was only £33! (i’m 20 btw so that may be different for you).
As long as you have someone who is willing to go out with you and who won’t stress you out, go for it!
