Have other people been let down as I have by the RAC? I waited three and a half hours for a rescue when my wife and I broke down in the middle of nowhere. It was freezing cold and pitch black as I had no battery - the alternator had packed in. After phoning for updates I was told firstly that they had not logged my call properly. That was after an hour and a half wait. Then I was told I'd have someone with me within an hour. An hour later I was phoned by the rescue driver who said that he would be another hour and he could take the vehicle, but not my wife and I with him. I would have been left stranded in the middle of nowhere! Thankfully, my son eventually came to the rescue and picked us up. I'm still waiting for a call from customer service to apologise and explain two weeks after the event. Shoddy service all round really.
